Crepidotus herbarum (Pk.) Sacc. Cap 0.5-2cm across, kidney-shaped or almost round; white; minutely hairy or downy. Gills radiating from a naked lateral or eccentric point, subdistant, narrow; white becoming dingy yellow or brownish. Stem none or rudimentary. Flesh very thin; white. Spores lance-shaped to ellipsoid, smooth, 6-7.5 x 3-4µ. Deposit pale yellowish brown. Habitat scattered or in groups on dead stems, twigs, branches, and debris of shrubs and hardwoods. Common. Found widely distributed in northern North America, south to New York, and in California. Season September-October, possibly earlier. Edibility not known.
